Generally the larger the tank, the more efficiently you can manage your watering cycles/usage.
We recommend:
- A minimum of 5,000 litres for non-potable (non-drinking) for toilet flushing, clothes washing, watering gardens and car washing.
A 5,000 L round tank generally will measure 1.7 metres diameter x 2.3 meters high.
- A minimum of 2,000 litres for toilet flushing and watering a small garden area.
A slim line tank 2,000 litres generally measures 2 meters long x 0.640 meters wide x 2.20 meters high.
For best results TFR recommends using tank water for day-to-day house-hold activities such as toilet flushing and washing machine. This will ensure your tank water is used regularly, reducing use of the mains water supply and maximizing your tanks' capacity for collection.
